Story
For T.J. Foundation (For T.J.) was created in loving memory of Terrance “T.J.” Yancey III. T.J. was a serial entrepreneur who started two successful businesses in car detailing and shoe resale. His enthusiasm and infectious personality made everyone he came into contact with believe all things were possible. He lived his life with a fierce determination to make this world a brighter one for all who were in it, especially our children. In 2015, at the age of 26, T.J. lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident in Tampa, FL. Now, his family and friends carry on his name & legacy through this organization. Our organization, like T.J., knows that children are our future and therefore we work to ensure they have the support and resources needed to be successful and pursue their dreams, especially entrepreneurial endeavors.
Approach:
Revolving around a core value- driven curriculum, For TJ programs consist of experiential learning activities, reflection, and discussion, paired with Project based lessons. At For TJ, we provide youth with a foundation and framework for learning and growth, supported and enhanced through progression in life skills and mentorship. For Tj strives to remove all barriers to accessing resources by providing youth with everything they need to become successful, at No Cost. New skills and knowledge gained at For Tj once applied to everyday life, challenges youth to step out of their comfort zone.

We need radical change to happen today, so that future generations of tomorrow can live in a world that values active anti-racism where everyone is treated equitably and with respect. For Tj commits to represent and work toward equity and inclusion for the youth and communities we serve. This focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is a staple of our mission and something we are passionate about.
